Support for JavaScript/HTML/CSS applications

May 6, 2012 at 2:24 PM

I'd like to know, if the initial versions of the framework have in mind the support for developing JavaScript/HTML/CSS applications for Win 8 Metro Style or it will be only .NET technologies.

Thanks in advice.

Hi jaiversin,

My current approach is to support developing for .Net languages rather than support all the WinRT languages (JavaScript, C++, etc.). Whilst the WinRT framework itself does a great job of spanning all the language options, my intention is that the Cocoon framework will be designed to fit in best with .Net languages. If I was to support JavaScript I would need to make too many comprimises in the architecture (e.g. at the moment I use a lot of MEF).
